What God has been doing here

Highlights of the ministry in Portugal, theological training and the project in India.

Since 2017 I have sent a monthly letter to supporters and intercessors, now more than 100 of them, with what happened, prayer requests and next steps. This page gathers only the ministry highlights. The full letters go by email or WhatsApp, as each person prefers.

  1. · Portugal

New visitors, a church in motion

Cascais Baptist Church has welcomed new visitors at many services. High rents in the area, however, lead many of them to move to other towns soon after. We keep sowing, sure that seed sown is never seed lost.

  2. · India

The theology course on its way to Indian languages

The structure built for the online courses made it possible to adapt the material into other languages. The first step is translating the Interdenominational Theology Course into Bengali and Odia and offering it free to pastors and leaders who never had access to a seminary.

  3. · Training

Launch of the two online courses

After months of research, writing, review and recording, the Interdenominational Theology Course and the Missionary Training Course were launched in partnership with SEMIPA, with video lessons, PDF summaries and a certificate.

  4. · Portugal

Preaching in Odivelas and the Alentejo

In April I preached at the missions month of Odivelas Baptist Church and at the 2nd anniversary of the Baptist Church in Reguengos de Monsaraz, a mission plant of Cascais Baptist Church in the interior of the country. That same month, the first missions course I wrote for SEMIPA was taught in Luanda, Angola.

  5. · Training

Nearly 100 graduates in the Jequitinhonha Valley

A missionary in the Jequitinhonha Valley (Brazil) reported that nearly 100 students graduated last year using the Interdenominational Theology Course. With new study centres opening, they now expect around 250 students.

  6. · Portugal

Teaching at the CBN Seminary in Portugal

I taught the Sects and Religions course at the Brazilian National Baptist Convention Seminary in Portugal: five weeks, with four online classes and one in person.

  7. · Training

New Missionary Training Course in its final stretch

After about a year of work, SEMIPA's new missions course entered final review: 10 subjects and over a thousand pages, rewritten from scratch from the original 2007 course.

  8. · Books

    Fifth book published

I released "Expository Sermons on the Book of Psalms Vol. 2: Psalms 31 to 60", following the volume written at the start of the pandemic to strengthen the trust of God's people.
