About Me
Pastor, theologian, author and missionary in Portugal — serving the church with biblical faithfulness and missionary zeal
Paulo Henrique Pereira da Cunha
I left Brazil in 2001 with my family to serve as a missionary. Since then, we have been to India, Italy, and now Portugal — each step shaped by God's providence and the call to faithfully proclaim the Gospel.
Born in Petrópolis, RJ, Brazil, in April 1973. Married to Alessandra since May 1994 and father of Matheus and Lucas.
Bachelor of Theology from the Dr. Walter Martin Theological and Apologetics College in São Paulo, and Master of Theology from the Reformed Institute of the Holy Gospel, in partnership with Vox Dei American University — USA.
Evangelical pastor, theologian, author and Brazilian missionary in Portugal. He lives in the Cascais region and serves with a focus on faithful proclamation of the Scriptures, training of workers, church planting and revitalization, and mobilizing the church for missionary work.
The Didasko Project
DIDASKO is a Greek word meaning "to teach," "to instruct." It appears 95 times in the New Testament, as in the Great Commission: "...teaching them [didasko(ntes)] to observe all things that I have commanded you" (Matt 28:19-20).
Purpose
To cooperate in training Portuguese leaders, planting new churches and supporting the revitalization of established congregations.
Mission
- Assist in missionary outreaches
- Support churches without pastors or with a shortage of workers
- Theological training of Portuguese leaders
- Theological support for workers in Europe, Africa and Asia
Location
We carry out missionary work from Cascais, in the district and metropolitan area of Lisbon, with an approximate population of 210,000 inhabitants.
Partnerships
It is crucial to build strong partnerships that provide ongoing support and ensure the long-term sustainability of the project.
Financial Policy
The budget is sustained by offerings from believers and churches, designated for the family's maintenance and the development of missionary work.
Transparency
We maintain a commitment to transparency through prayer letters and periodic reports, sharing challenges, achievements and needs of the project.
Missionary Experience
India
During five years in India, he dedicated himself to training workers and planting churches. In partnership with local leaders, he founded the Sporshow organization — which in Bengali means "to touch." Today it has 75 national missionaries serving in over 585 villages, with more than 345 house churches established. Thousands of people reached with the gospel across three states in India.
Italy
During five years in Italy, he served in two regions of northern Italy — one of the most challenging mission contexts in Europe. He cooperated with the Evangelical Christian Church in Castelnuovo del Garda (Veneto) and with the Presbyterian Church in Legnano (Lombardy), developing evangelism, discipleship and theological teaching in a context of deep cultural Catholicism and growing secularization.
Portugal
Currently living in Portugal, where he develops a long-term project, with the purpose of contributing to the training of Portuguese leaders, planting new churches and supporting the revitalization of established communities.
