Bring the Word to pastors who had no way to study it

Free theological training for pastors in India — in Bengali, Odia and, soon, Hindi.

A need we saw up close

A calling of more than twenty years

90%

More than 90% of church leaders in some regions of India lead their communities without ever having had access to a seminary — limited by the language barrier and lack of resources.

The story of this project began more than twenty years ago. Pr. Paulo Henrique served in India from early 2001 to the end of 2005 and, upon leaving the country, left local pastors and leaders with basic training material in English. Over time, it became clear that they needed something far more complete and comprehensive.

In November 2024, back in India, the conviction became firm: it was necessary to freely equip these men, in a deeply biblical and practical way.

The answer is the Interdenominational Theology Course — a complete and comprehensive course, able to give these pastors a better formation than most pastors in Brazil have.

Our vision
Just as the 16th-century reformers wanted the simplest peasant to know the Scriptures more deeply than the clergy of the time, our goal in India is equally clear: to form native Indian pastors with a solid, deep and secure biblical and theological foundation.

It is not just about delivering content — it is about raising the standard of biblical teaching on the front line of the mission field.

The door has opened — and it is now

From a calling to the first groups

This project is not a distant dream: the first class is already translated and the network of pastors already exists. What is missing is the support to set everything in motion — and sustain it.

2001 – 2005

Service in India

Pr. Paulo Henrique serves in the field and, upon leaving, leaves behind basic training material in English.

The return

A new trip to India confirms the need for complete training, in the pastors' own language.

Meeting with local leadership

Meeting with the leadership of the partner network of churches in India. The vision is received with joy and enthusiasm.

Now

First groups

In the coming weeks, new meetings will define the details and launch the first groups of pastors.

A network that already exists

This project does not start from zero

Since 2005

An already established mission

A missionary organization founded by Pr. Paulo Henrique in partnership with Indian pastors. It carries out broad work in evangelism, church planting and leadership training.

Fruit of the mission

A network of local churches

Hundreds of pastors and independent churches were born out of this work and have come to walk with us — bound by the same missionary vision.

What this means

A field ready to receive

A network built over almost two decades will receive, coordinate and accompany each group of students — from the mission's workers to the partner pastors and churches.

What we are doing

A complete course, in their language, free of charge

Pr. Paulo Henrique has already produced, in Portuguese, a complete theology course — used today by students in Brazil. In Brazil this course is sold; in India, it will be offered free of charge to pastors who could never afford it.

The classes are on video, short and clear, narrated in the students' own language — with the voice of an Indian pastor from our network, who lent his own voice to the project.

The first class is already ready.

Why video, on a phone?

Because that is how these pastors can really study: without traveling, without expensive internet, without abandoning their churches and families — at the pace that life in the field allows.

The vision does not stop at Bengali

Three languages, a growing reach

Now

Bengali

West Bengal
+230 M

speakers — the 7th most spoken language in the world

Next

Odia

Odisha — requested by a partner pastor
35 M

speakers in the neighbouring state

In the future

Hindi

All of northern India
+500 M

more than half a billion speakers

Because translation is done with technology already built and tested, each new language costs only a little more — the same investment opens ever bigger doors.

How it works in practice

Simple for the pastor, serious in the training

1

Study on the phone, at their own pace

Each pastor watches the classes on their phone, at their own pace — no need for expensive internet or travel to study.

2

Monthly group meeting

Once a month, small groups of pastors meet in person with a local coordinator, to talk about what they've learned, ask questions and encourage one another.

3

Assessment and certificate

Upon completing each stage, pastors go through an assessment — and, at the end, receive a complete certificate of theological training.

Why your support multiplies

One pastor reaches an entire church

One pastor reaches an entire church

Each student already leads a community — your support does not reach one person, it reaches congregations.

The investment is not wasted

The entire course is already finished in Portuguese. Now the work is translation and human follow-up in the field, month after month.

Built to grow

Pastors trained in the first classes will be able to lead new groups — in West Bengal, in Odisha and beyond.

US$ 700 – 1,000 /month

Initially, to run at full pace, with 4 to 5 groups of pastors — monthly meetings and the course being translated continuously. About half sustains the translation and preparation of classes; the rest covers travel, meals and the groups' field meetings.

US$ 30
Helps cover the monthly meeting of a group of pastors
US$ 90
Covers a group's full monthly meeting (travel + meals)
US$ 350
Sustains the ongoing translation and preparation of classes

These amounts are only suggestions. Give what you can and want to — any contribution is welcome.

How you can help

Pray. Give. Share.

Pray

This is, above all, a spiritual project — pray for the Indian pastors, for the leadership of the partner network and for the decisions of the coming weeks.

Give

Any amount, monthly or one-time, makes a real difference. Every contribution sustains the training of pastors who could never afford it.
